The Darfur Victims Advocacy Organization, Hope and Sanctuary, in cooperation with Habitat Defenders Africa , distributed food baskets for emergency support to the two host communities, the Ugandan host represented by Sudanese women and refugees, today, Sunday, October 19, 2025 AD, in Rubaga District, Kampala.

The Executive Director of the Darfur Victims Advocacy Organization, Mr. Adam Musi “Obama,” said in statements to Al-Jasser News newspaper that the baskets that were distributed in Rubaga district in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, were 75 food baskets containing basic foodstuffs such as flour, oil, and lentils.

Obama added that the distribution of baskets comes as an extension of a series of initiatives to support families in need, and within the framework of strengthening the relationship between the Ugandan community and Sudanese refugees.

Uganda is continuously receiving tens of thousands of Sudanese refugees as the humanitarian crisis escalates due to the ongoing war between the army forces and the allied parties and the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan since mid-April 2023, which resulted in the death of more than 20,000 people and the displacement and asylum of about 15 million, according to the United Nations and local authorities, while a study prepared by American universities estimated the death toll at about 130,000.
